7 Tips to Give you the Mindset of a Champion
I don’t think people truly realize how powerful a strong mindset is. If you do, you’re one of the lucky ones. If not, don’t stress over it but a strong mindset will get you very far in life. A champion mindset is defined as being strong willed in a way where you believe you can achieve anything while giving you the courage to make life your bitch. If you’re wondering if you’ll find that in a Google search somewhere I highly doubt it. I may have improvised on that a little bit ;)
But I felt it to be very fitting!
Now I keep a more leveled head when it comes to a strong mindset. I don’t necessarily believe in manifestation where you can get the things and success you desire by just believing they’ll happen. Taking massive action will get you farther than manifestation in my opinion. But I do like the foundation of how manifestation operates. Believe it. See it. Do it. Win it.
A mind is so powerful that if you even have 1% of doubt you’ll be more likely to fail. You won’t commit 100%. Success requires 100% commitment. Even 99% won’t be enough. It starts with believing in yourself. If you struggle with commitment check this out.“Whether you think you can or you can’t. You’re right.” -Henry Ford
From Zero to Hero
I’ve personally been at ground zero with my mindset. I used to be negative and lacked confidence about my self image. I lived in an environment where people were constantly beating me down and telling me I was worthless. That combined with believing what the haters would tell me was a recipe for disaster. It was tough. My life was going nowhere. It wasn’t until reaching rock bottom that I realized I couldn’t take people’s word for it. People don’t have your best interest in mind. Human beings are selfish creatures. Don’t believe me check out my post on crabs in a bucket. Therefore only you can have your best interest in mind. Don’t get this confused with the concept of help and teamwork. You to learn to accept help from others if you want to succeed. A story for another day perhaps.
I changed my thinking from I can’t to how can I. I started thinking just because someone else failed at it doesn’t mean I will. Then, I would get these little boost of confidence from small successes that would start allowing me to fly.
I started to realize that the more I removed myself from the hate and negativity the happier I became. I started playing sports and learned what a work ethic was. I became good at sports and even played football in college. Throughout my journey in sports I learned how to have the heart of a warrior, how to compete, and the mental beating you can take and still move on, with swag.
Finally, after graduating college and finishing my sports career came a whole different beast. The world of business. Business is a tough game to play because there’s so many moving parts and being in management amplifies the challenges. I’ve failed many times throughout my working career but the main thing that kept me fighting was my mindset. I know how to be relentless and how to teach my team to do the same. I’ve seen what a mindset can do personally and for the lives of others. It’s empowering to see and my favorite part is getting people to achieve things they never thought possible and make money they never thought they could. It’s truly an awesome experience.
So be open to changing your mindset. For those of you who don’t think it’s worth it, it is.
The 7 Tips to Get a Champion Mindset
- Put yourself in a positive state of mind with past experiences. Champions are able to literally think back to a time when they found success, won something, got a big business deal, etc. They can picture it like it was yesterday and even feel those same feelings. Doing this has been proven to boost people’s confidence. Practice doing this right before you need to perform and you’ll be in a better state of mind.
- Find ways to boost your self image and confidence. Confidence is extremely important when it comes to a champion mindset. You can boost your self image through reading self affirmations, positive human interactions, doing good deeds for someone etc. It reinforces why you’re awesome and helps you never forget.
- Motivate yourself. Champions aren’t searching constantly for something or someone to motivate them. That’s not someone else’s job. The greatest way to motivate yourself is to be constantly thinking about your ‘reason why.’ Motivation will be needed during the low times. Those low times are often when normal people get derailed.
- Don’t believe in impossible. Champions refuse to believe something can’t be done. It never even pops into their mind. There’s always hope for success and winning. The sky is the limit along with their success. Any challenge or roadblock is possible to overcome. Start thinking this and you’ll see yourself persisting more.
- See yourself succeeding. Champions can envision themselves winning and succeeding. Start seeing yourself achieving your goals. Do this very often. You’ll start to believe that you can hit your goals and even exceed them. Similar to past experiences but this one is seeing yourself succeed for your current goal or challenge.
- Give 100%. Champions know that if they don’t perform at their highest level that they’ll lose. Losing isn’t an option. Start giving your best effort. Most people don’t know that they aren’t even committing 100%. You can’t find success with only 75% effort.
- Own everything you do. Champions aren’t fighting about whether or not they did or didn’t do something. They focus on constantly improving, setting new goals, challenges, and learning from mistakes. Even if that ownership requires owning a failure. Doing this’ll make you stronger and get you focused on future success.
I will warn you that completely reprogramming the way you think is very difficult. You won’t find success if you’re inconsistent.
If you’re hesitant to trying this I strongly urge you to be open minded. Even if you give yourself a 30 day challenge consistently holding yourself accountable you can at least see if it’s for you or not. I believe you’ll be surprised by the results but that’s for you to see for yourself. Let these recommendations be a guideline for you to develop the mindset of a champion and get the success you deserve!
